My Core Convictions
about Teaching and Learning
I believe being an
educator is the most prestigious
profession. Without
teachers there would be no lawyers, doctors, nurses, counselors,
biologists, etc. Teachers are the beginning of everyone's education.
Although I am going
into the counseling aspect of the school community, I plan on being a support for the
teachers and additional staff at my school. I plan on working together with my
fellow staff to ensure that
all students are getting the most out of their education; academically,
socially, and personally.
I do believe
teachers make all the difference in learning. Teaching does look easy from the
outside, but if you look back to all the man hours they put in outside of the
classroom you would think otherwise. Teachers are not only educators, they are
advocates, instructors, observers, evaluators, and coaches.
My Goals as an Educator (School Counselor)
To be the best
support staff. As a School Counselor I am not only the advocate for my
students, but I will be for my teachers and additional staff.
Supporting the
teacher and working collaboratively with them will ensure that all students are
getting the most out of their education.
I want to be able to
align guidance lessons with what the students are learning in the classroom,
bridging the gap between what is going on with them socially and personally
with their academics as well.
